Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX down 0.18%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Technology and Utilities sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Financial Services and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.18%, while the MDAX index added 0.61%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.41%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Covestro AG (ETR:1COV), which rose 1.75% or 1.00 points to trade at 58.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) added 1.31% or 8.00 points to end at 619.60 and Heidelberg Materials AG (ETR:HEIG) was up 0.96% or 1.15 points to 120.35 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (ETR:VOWG_p), which fell 1.98% or 1.76 points to trade at 87.04 at the close. Porsche Automobil Holding SE (ETR:PSHG_p) declined 1.62% or 0.58 points to end at 35.18 and MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn) was down 1.49% or 4.80 points to 317.80.

The top performers on the MDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 7.81% to 15.32, Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (ETR:HLE) which was up 5.13% to settle at 90.20 and Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which gained 3.47% to close at 70.00.

The worst performers were K+S AG (ETR:SDFGn) which was down 1.52% to 10.40 in late trade, AUTO1 Group SE (ETR:AG1G) which lost 1.02% to settle at 15.60 and Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) which was down 0.88% to 45.13 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 7.81% to 15.32, Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) which was up 4.03% to settle at 113.60 and TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which gained 2.60% to close at 9.47.

The worst performers were Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which was down 3.21% to 79.95 in late trade, Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR:ELGG) which lost 2.49% to settle at 66.60 and SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn) which was down 1.10% to 49.45 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.98% to 15.69.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.12% or 3.05 to $2,631.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.30% or 0.90 to hit $70.14 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.18% or 0.85 to trade at $73.17 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 108.00.
