France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.51%

Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Utilities and Financials sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.51%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.51%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR), which rose 4.13% or 5.76 points to trade at 145.14 at the close. Meanwhile, Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) added 2.95% or 0.88 points to end at 30.69 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) was up 2.64% or 2.28 points to 88.72 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV), which fell 1.65% or 0.15 points to trade at 8.68 at the close. L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) declined 1.19% or 3.95 points to end at 328.90 and Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) was down 0.88% or 1.95 points to 219.80.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which rose 6.92% to 7.73, Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which was up 5.29% to settle at 1.89 and Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which gained 4.22% to close at 5.68.

The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 22.86% to 0.78 in late trade, Nexity (EPA:NEXI) which lost 5.59% to settle at 11.66 and Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which was down 3.33% to 2.50 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 272 to 226 and 92 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.02% or 0.49 to $2,665.29 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.19% or 0.13 to hit $68.85 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.22% or 0.16 to trade at $72.46 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.17% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 106.15.
