Portugal stocks higher at close of trade; PSI up 0.31%

Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Financials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.31% to hit a new 1-month high.

The best performers of the session on the PSI were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT), which rose 4.24% or 0.23 points to trade at 5.65 at the close. Meanwhile, Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) added 2.85% or 0.22 points to end at 7.94 and Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) was up 2.48% or 0.07 points to 3.06 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Semapa (ELI:SEM), which fell 1.37% or 0.20 points to trade at 14.38 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) declined 1.15% or 0.11 points to end at 9.46 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) was down 0.79% or 0.03 points to 3.12.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 14 to 14 and 3 ended unchanged.

Shares in CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) rose to 5-year highs; rising 4.24% or 0.23 to 5.65. Shares in Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) rose to 3-years highs; up 2.85% or 0.22 to 7.94.

Brent oil for March delivery was down 0.84% or 0.68 to $80.11 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.07% or 0.83 to hit $76.56 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.87% or 24.01 to trade at $2,724.69 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was up 1.02% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.96% at 108.16.
